Didn't Danielle Smith also meet with Tucker Carlson, for his 'Liberate Canada tour' in the spring? I would like to know what far-right group and individuals, that both her, and Poilievre have ties to.

To call her a "traiter" assumes she was ever Canadian in any way other than her address. She has made clear she's an enemy to Canada with her vow to support Trump and to fight against the Canadian position "in every way possible" in the impending (trade) war.

She went to Mar-a-Lago with the same argument Trudeau used--the US needs our oil!--expecting a different response? Not too bright, our Dani.

Would Pierre Poilievre raise the old age pension age?

An unusual Liberal leadership candidate, MP Chandra Arya, has put this issue back in the headlines. “His multi-page announcement includes a list of policy proposals, including increasing the retirement age by two years in 2040.”

https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/liberals-leadership-race-meeting-rules-1.7426292

Back in 2012 Stephen Harper’s government announced an increase in the old age pension date, going from 65 to 67. It was to be phased in starting on April 1, 2023, moving up 1 month for every 2 months of your birth date, reaching age 67 in January 2029. Harper’s government passed this change, but Justin Trudeau repealed it after his election in 2015.

In 2012 Poilievre was a parliamentary assistant to a couple of Ministers. In 2013 he was promoted to cabinet. Harper’s government had the usual explanations: people are working longer. Of the 34 OECD countries, 22 have already raised their pension age. And it would save a lot of money, tackling the deficit.

Expect the NDP and Liberals to start asking: Would Pierre Poilievre raise the old age pension age? And would you believe him if he says he has changed his mind since 2013?

OK. Trudeau and Joly ban Alberta's 4.6 bbl/day of exports to the States. The States have to keep most of their 5 bbl/day exports of refined products to make up for it and Europe suffers. Meanwhile, refineries retool so they aren't depedent on Alberta's heavy crude. Then, the trade war ends and the ban is lifted, but the market is no longer there. No more transfer payments. No more taxes. Gas prices through the roof in Ontario and East, which are now dependent on foreign oil, refined by Irving.

The only way to stop the retooling of the refineries is to let them know the interruption will be brief. The only way to send that message (because the federal government will not budge on bringing in terrorists and fentanyl) is to promise a quick referendum on the speparation of Alberta and an application to congress to join the Union.

It's good to be able to spin up as many potential scenarios as possible. This is one.

Risk management will weigh the likelihood and impact each and then the extent of the effort that should be applied to avoidance or mitigation plans.

A key to effective risk management is the rigor and objectivity applied in the weighting process.

Of course folks are doing this, but some of the trickiest variables are internal. That is, the differing political interests at play inside Canada.
