Glad to see the majority of Canadians can distinguish moderately unbiased sources from flagrantly biased ones, but the number of, especially, Gen-xs who get their news from social media is genuinely disturbing.
The movement from TV to social media for news doesn't have to be terrible if social media has standards and shuts down the misinformation flow. But MAGA doesn't want that.
A few days ago a relative of mine answered a phone call that was from Rebel News which I assume is published by Rebel Media. I explained Who and Why and emphasized that this was a mailing list that she would never want her name on.
Thank you for your perfect timing of your corroboration to send to my relative.
Substack channels, including one that carries local-to-me content, have become my biggest source of new and opinion, followed by the Toronto Star, then TV news. I quit Twitter when it became Musk's X. I still have Meta social media profiles, but not as a trusted news source. But I am not a young person. I hope this platform keeps growing and more initiatives the local one I mentioned emerge to counter the rising tide of disinformation and misinformation.

The right wing in this country has always hated being Canadian
The Postmedia takeover has decimated local news.
The Halifax Chronicle Hearld is an absolute waste of time, ever since those guys bought it
Same thing with the Ottawa Citizen.

Excellent. Thanks you.
